All eyes on British Paragliding

From Theo's BBC interview to coverage of the Acro Games in the space of how long? All eyes are on paragliding and

A big congratulations and thanks goes to Theo Warden, the young humble British pilot who recently won the FAI European Paragliding Championships held in Montalegre, Portugal. Check out a snippet of his interview on the BBC News.

Theo is not shy of a podium place, he has made a number of notable achievements over the years. At the young age of 14 he learnt to fly and by 15 he was already joining the Nova Team. At only 16 years old he had flown an amazing 200km XC flight across England, landing him the Nova Team’s Junior of the Year Award.

Thanks to Theo’s epic accomplishments the gaze of the paragliding world has turned on the UK. The UK has some great up and coming talent with Theo himself, Jack Bailey and Jack Pimblett to name a few. Let’s hope Theo’s great achievements inspires the next generation of British paragliding pilots and we see more UK pilots on podiums in the future. No doubt we will see Theo progress through the ranks of the Paragliding World Cup and the World Championships in the next few years.

Theo and his dad John spent a  week with us four years ago, they chose FlySpain as their first destination to fly in Europe on one of our popular Mentor plus weeks. Our mentor plus weeks are brilliant for new and low airtime pilots learning the important skills of thermalling and cross country flying. These important training weeks are ultimately the foundations of Theo's skills and his determination has eventually led Theo's great achievements we see today.
